THE PARENT BABY COACH
An interview with a Baby Sleep Coach
What was the reason for setting up The Parent and Baby Coach?
When I moved to London, I realised that there was a huge need for good quality baby sleep consultants and advice for new parents, but from someone that they can trust, with experience and qualifications.
Why would clients choose your baby sleep consultant services and parenting workshops over other professionals offering a similar service?
95% of my clients are referred to me by word of mouth, which really shows how important it is that you work with someone that you can trust. I believe that I offer a service that really promises to create change in the area parents are looking for help with. My follow up support is a hugely important part of the parenting packages that I provide and I am passionate about helping my clients get to where they want to be, no matter what that means I have to do.
How has being a parent yourself influenced your consultancy support?
This is a great point, and one that I am often asked. I have a one year old son, Rupert, and am expecting my second son this year and, therefore, feel that I bring to my consultancy a real breadth of experience, both as a Mummy and as an experienced baby sleep coach. I have spent hundreds of hours with mothers who have only just given birth, talking about how they are feeling and coping with changes in their relationships, their bodies and anxieties around the early days and, when I became a parent myself, I think it just added a certain understanding and empathy that I always try to bring to my clients. It is amazing how deep conversation gets when spending a day or night in someone’s home! My clients quickly confide in me and I feel honoured to be able to support so many parents on the most incredible journey of their lives.
What do you enjoy most about working as The Parent and Baby Coach?
My job brings me the most amazing feedback and a lot of the time I am helping give parents back their sanity, sleep, confidence and sometimes even their relationships! I find the positive testimonials and recommendations a real privilege and something that I don’t take for granted. Parenting is hard and can, sadly, feel like it is full of judgements. So, to be the person to help a client create positive change for their whole family is such a special role. The messages that I receive at the end of working with a client are just wonderful and I feel honoured to love my work so much.
Who else is in your team?
After growing my business and expanding into regular parenting workshops, I am thrilled to now work with a Virtual Assistant, Natalia, who runs Clear Desk VA, who supports me with the day to day running and administrative tasks of The Parent and Baby Coach.
What made you choose to outsource some of your administrative tasks?
I always want to spend as much of my time as possible meeting clients and putting support processes in place for families and so I decided to find somebody who understands what it is to run a busy business alongside being a Mummy, to help me. Natalia supports me by helping with the behind the scenes administrative tasks of my business and she allows me to focus on supporting more parents and growing my business.
Natalia, what is it like being part of The Parent and Baby Coach team?
Quite simply, it is an honour! Heidi is a dream to work with; she is diligent, creative and organised. She works around the clock (literally!) to support tired, busy parents and I find her a true joy to work with. She has that magical calmness about her, which is exactly what you’d hope a Baby Sleep Coach would have! I love being part of the team and feel thoroughly supported and appreciated in the work that I do for Heidi. She has provided me with opportunities to learn and grow my own skills, whilst supporting her, which is all I can wish for in a client. I hope to support her for a very long time to come and support her business to go from strength to strength.
